1. Explore
This summer of two thousand twelve, I visited the country of
El Salvador with my family. El Salvador is really far from my
house here in Monterey. It is in Central America. While I was
there I explored the countryside, where I went to a lot of water
parks and pools. But my favorite part was when we went to el
cucu. El cuco is a really beautiful beach. Its really cool and fun to
explore, there I discovered a little stream with my cousin Bianca
and Kevin. We stayed in a resort where in the picnic area was on
the beach, the waves reached the chairs where we were sitting.
I also explored a theme park called Montegrande where I
went in even more pools. The best part of the park was that inside
was a zoo where I saw many different types of animals. For
example: porcupines, goats, crocodiles, rabbits, snakes, exotic
birds, ostriches, and many more. I’ve been to zoos before but never
like this. It was an amazing experience, because the entire zoo is in
nature. It isn’t like anything ive ever seen before.
I also explored the daily life of someone who lives there, I
had to learn to go to church more often than I usually did here. We
went every Sunday, the churches were nothing like they are here.
Life was much more difficult, I couldn’t even eat peacefully. I had
to fan my food every second to avoid flies touching it. But flies
weren’t the only problem, I had to keep an eye out for mosquitos
and other bugs crawling on your body.
I also got to know a lot of family I had never met before I
was there for three weeks, with no electronics and no tv signal. I
also missed my dad a lot because he couldn’t go. I really had fun
and would love to go again.
