2. Textures
• Textures ranged from mossy walls, grungy
roof, ivy walls, and leaf walls.
• Variations of adjustment layers from Curves,
hue/saturation, levels, exposure, and
brightness were used to modify and give the
look of the exterior of the house.
3. Lighting
• Lighting proved to be very difficult in this
scene.
• Multiple color overlays with adjustment
layers using curves, levels, exposure and
Hue/saturation were also a big part of this
matte painting.
• Shape layers with dropped opacity and
gaussian blur were used to create shadows.
• Also adjustment layers with the gradient tool
were used to give a ramp of the shadows
under the rain gutters and to the right of the
building
4. Style
• This was a realistic styled scene using real
photographed assets besides the trees
which were generated within the tree render
in photoshop.
• Marlinspike hall remained unmodified
besides previous mentions.
• The house in the scene is as it stands today.
