2. An accomplished Los Angeles-based public
relations professional, Randy Steinberg
possesses more than 15 years of experience
providing strategic communication services
to organizations in the public, private, and
nonprofit sectors. Outside of his professional
activities, Randy Steinberg is an active
member of Temple Isaiah and serves in the
synagogue’s Gun Legislation Advocacy
Committee.
3. Formed in 2013, the Gun Legislation Advocacy
Committee (GLAC) of Temple Isaiah works to
reduce the prevalence of gun violence
through community action and advocacy
work that promotes common-sense firearm
regulations. Guided by Judaic texts and
Temple Isaiah’s long history as an advocate of
social justice, GLAC takes a proactive
approach by reaching out to other
organizations and lobbying for strengthened
background checks, fewer loopholes
surrounding the sale of guns, and the
prohibition of items such as high-capacity
magazines and assault rifles.
4. To further its work, GLAC holds monthly
meetings and sponsors special events that
bring attention to legislative initiatives and
other issues guiding the debate on gun
control. GLAC hosted a special
presentation and dinner on February 18,
2015, entitled Not One More, which
featured Richard Martinez, who lost his son
to gun violence in the deadly rampage at
UC Santa Barbara. To find out how to
