1. Executive Summary
La Comédie Mauricienne Ltée is a company that started its business in October
2008.
La Comédie Mauricienne exists since May 2000 as a group registered with the
Ministry of Arts and Culture. Since year 2000, the group has been performing in
several hotels, mainly 5 star hotels. The director of the group, Mr Raj Gokhool,
was providing drama training to children and adults. As demand for shows and
animations were growing, the director started training youngsters who wished to
stage shows.
La Comédie Mauricienne Ltée’s vision is to provide a proper structure so that
those talented and passionate about drama can earn a living from same.
The Company has brought about an innovative concept and has as objective to
bring drama to a professional level whereby “ joindre l’utile a l’agreable” will
have a true meaning. Earning a living from one’s passion will no longer be just a
dream.
To attain such an objective, quality of service is important. Client’s satisfaction is
the main focus of the Company. This is why training is vital for those who wish
to be part of this adventure.
In April 2009, the director of the Company, Mr Raj Gokhool, was recognized as
an approved trainer in the field of drama by the Mauritius Qualifications
Authority.
In 2010 the company was able to hire 2 persons as full time staff and
approximately 15 part timers. In 2011, staff turnover showed 6 full time staff and
a dozen part timers.
Since 2010, La Comedie Mauricienne Ltee has presented about 300 shows and in
2011 another 300 shows have been scheduled.

2.Activities/ Services
The Company’s main activity is to provide drama training.
To enhance the quality of its service and products, other trainings
are also provided: training for several dance styles, karate and face
painting.
Those trainings go in line with the services provided by La
Comedie Mauricienne Ltee.
Services provided by La Comedie Mauricienne Ltee:
1. Drama courses in schools from kindergarten to Secondary
School.
2. Drama courses to adults
3. Courses in Modern Dance, Karate and Face Painting.
4. Workshops for kids during school holidays.
5. Shows specially designed for kids.
6. Shows designed for adults and kids combined.
7. Animations/ Entertainment for weddings, parties (including
companies’ end of year parties), birthdays etc.
8. Animations/ Entertainment for super markets. (Commercial
centres)
9. Provide competent Promo Girls/ Boys.
10.Provide competent actors for shootings of adverts, films.

3. Empowerment programme.
La Comédie Mauricienne Ltée has participated in the
empowerment programmes of Bel Ombre foundations in 2010
and for kids of Roche Bois at MPRB in 2011 . Both were held
under CSR programmes and the main objectives were to
empower students for a better future.
A tailor made training programme was derived for each batch.
The main objective of the programmes are to make the students
employable. As a result, some of the students of Bel Ombre were
able to participate in animation/shows for the end of year.
