NEC Corporation developed a pen computer called P-ISM consisting of five pen components: a camera, virtual keyboard, CPU, cellular phone pen, and projector. The pens connect wirelessly and work together to provide functions like taking photos, using a virtual keyboard, projecting an A4-sized display, making calls as a phone, and connecting to the internet. The battery allows over 6 days of use from a full charge despite its small size. The system was designed to exchange information wirelessly and was unveiled at a 2003 technology conference in Switzerland.
