2. She called “I’m coming home for Covid soon.”
“I’ll bring Aaloo, Yahoo! We may stay till June”.

3. Perplexed, they asked, “Why bring a potato?”,
Boston has better veggies, and “they are all Idaho”???

4. Surprise! She docked, carrying a bag from outer space.
The alien was drowsy, scared, sporting a grumpy face.

5. He was a rescue cat, his new name is Aaloo.
Now he’s a couch potato, loves the whirlpool in the loo.

6. Brave but scared, the cat hunted their toes and heels.
Afraid of Baba’s walking stick and ran from brother’s wheels.

7. Every meal time, at the head of the table he sat,
Snubbing at their food but wanting his own placemat.

8. Wooden desk, oh! Nice scratcher, bookshelf was his tree.
What a cozy bed & bath Papa’s office came to be.

9. What! A cardboard box! He climbs in in a beat,
Challenging them to join him, or come up with a treat.

10. One noisy day, he couldn’t be found anywhere at all.
He was playing hide and seek behind the bookshelf wall.

11. Treats didn’t entice him, he wanted peace instead
Hid in closet, stuck in a shoe box; slept under Baba’s
bed.

12. Hunting from the tunnel, pouncing on the mouse,
Pounding the flipping fish - chasing spring through the
house.

13. Sits on the laptop, leads calls on Zoom,
Whenever Papa works he doesn’t leave the room.

14. “Get off my chair”, poor Papa would whine.
He settles down further, claims “All chairs are mine.”

15. DIsrupting their activity, he lies under their feet,
When she dances and Mama exercises to the beat.

16. For hours at the window, he lies by the flue.
Dreaming of the hunt as squirrels chirped and birds flew.

17. At playtime, he stares them down.
Demanding attention, he threatens to pounce.

18. To make up for it, he massages and cuddles with them,
Petting their legs till they gave him food in his den.
