Thankfully, because of EPA-regulation, we are seeing particulate mass decreasing by tons every year. In the short term some economic activity has been lost through these regulations, but in the long term the world is a better, healthier, and more sustainable place. The same can be said for Premiere Environmental’s state-of-the-art indoor air cleaning system. You pay a little bit extra for the quality now, and then over time the technology pays for itself in the money, time, and energy you save.

Premiere Environmental: The Clean Air Act

Environmental

Clean
Air
Act

In
a
world
where
we
aren’t
guaranteed
survival
necessities
such
as
food,
shelter
or
clothing,
the
one
thing
we
should
all
be
promised
is
clean
air
to
breathe.
We
often
take
this
vital
resource
for
granted,
but
it’s
one
of
the
most
immediate,
most
direct
things
keeping
us
alive.
Fortunately,
the
Clean
Air
Act
isn’t
taking
it
for
granted.
The
act
requires
the
EPA
to
set
National
Ambient
Air
Quality
Standards
for
six
common
air
pollutants.
Of
the
six
pollutants,
the
most
common
are
Ozone
and
Particulate
Matter.
These
two
are
prevalent
enough
that
the
EPA
dubs
the
permissible
levels
for
these
as
“primary
standards”.
Controlling
these
is
important
to
protect
“sensitive”
populations
of
asthmatics,
children
and
the
elderly.
The
other
four
pollutants
have
“secondary
standards”,
meaning
they
protect
animals,
crops
and
buildings.
Particulate
matter
is
when
solids
or
liquids
get
suspended
in
the
air.
Particulate
matter
that
is
10
micrometers
or
less
can
affect
various
regions
of
the
lungs.
At
2.5
micrometers
it
can
enter
the
gas
exchange
region
of
the
lungs.
Particulates
have
adverse
effects
on
human
health,
including
asthma,
lung
cancer
and
birth
defects.
In
the
last
century,
it
has
been
responsible
for
thousands
of
deaths
per
year
in
the
United
States
and
Europe.
Thankfully,
because
of
EPA-‐regulation,
we
are
seeing
particulate
mass
decreasing
by
tons
every
year.
In
the
short
term
some
economic
activity
has
been
lost
through
these
regulations,
but
in
the
long
term
the
world
is
a
better,
healthier,
and
more
sustainable
place.
The
same
can
be
said
for

air
cleaning
system.
