1) Creation Of Calendar Type
In Oracle Apps, they have given two types of financial years.
1. Fiscal Year
2. Calendar Year
Fiscal Year: - Fiscal year is nothing but the financial year which starts in one year
and ends in next year. For example, India financial year is comes under Fiscal year.
It starts on 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017 for the financial year 2016–2017.
Calendar Year: - Calendar year is nothing but the financial year which starts and
ends in the same year. For example, US financial year is Calendar year. It starts on
1 January 2016 to 31 December 2017 for the calendar year 2016.
Country Year Type Period
India Fiscal 1 April to 31 March
US Calendar 1 January to 31 December
Japan Calendar 1 January to 31 December
China Calendar 1 January to 31 December
United Kingdom Fiscal 1 April to 31 March
There are 6 standard period types.
1. Daily
2. Weekly
3. Monthly
4. Quarterly
5. Half-Yearly
6. Yearly

3) Creation Opening Gl Accounting Periods Of
Calendar In Account Receivables
Accounting periods areneeded to be open at the startof every month for that
particular month’s transactions. If period is not open then the transaction won’t
take place.
To open the periods, Go to
Responsibility:Receivables Manager
Navigation:Control > Accounting > Open/Close periods

Following Errors Will Come When GL Period is Not
Open.
Error:-
APP-PO-14230:The GL date is not in an open period
Or- APP-PO-14376:PleaseenteraGL date withinan openpurchasing period
Solution:-
1. Ensurethe Receipt Date falls into a GL Period that has Status=Open or Future:
Setup / Financials / Accounting / Open and Close periods
-OR- Setup / Open and Close periods
2. Ensurethe Purchasing Period is Open:
Setup / Financials / Accounting / Control Purchasing Period
3. Please note that the Inventory period mustalso be Open:
Accounting close cycle / Inventory Accounting Periods
