Feria del Senor de Los Milagros. On the Feria’s
4th Sunday Joaquin Galdos faced a good sixth from
the Spanish Ranch San Lorenzo. Bull came out loose,
and slow to the cape,
avoiding the horse. The
key to his faena was
the start. With one of
Galdo’s knees on the
ground he dominated
the bull. He continued with successful long, tem-
pered right passes. Joaquin did mostly Natura-
les showing class and flavor. He crowned his
work with an upper thrust assuring him the 2-Ear
prize. Galdos was the Winner of Gold Escapulary.
Temporada Grande de Mexico-2019. Virgen of
Guadalupe Day. Finally, Peruvian Andrés Roca Rey,
hero of a thousand battles in Europe, conquered
the Monumental of Mexico. Otherwise, public, who
packed the 55,000 capacity facility, would have been
disappointed. The last bull of the evening from
Jaral de Peñas Ranch, came out tight to gaoneras
and chicuelinas. An-
dres started faena with
a vibrant kneeling at
the middle of the
ring, electrifying and
captivating the audience. At faena’s end horns
brushed the embroidery of his bullfighting suit and
in each Bernadina his life was at stake. Perfect
thrust, 2-ears price. Exits Plaza Mexico on shoul-
ders. An unforgettable moment for the Peruvian.
Board of Directors Meeting Saturday Jan 26
Membership Dues $30 from Liz Shcraft.
Meetings will continue to be held the last Satur-
day of the month at the Wilmette Recreation Cen-
ter. Winter meetings will be January 26, February
23, and March 30, 2019. In January, Luis Noriega
will make a presentation on the current situation in
Quito, Ecuador. Elections will be held during the
February meeting. It will also include Valdemoril-
lo, the first feria of the season in Spain. The March
meeting will cover Las Fallas in Valencia, Spain.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
