2. Sandra Moran
Hello.
My name is Sandra Moran and I am riding my motorbike
around Australia, stopping in as many towns as possible includ-
ing several in Tasmania; talking about the loss of my son Jaie to
suicide (April 2014). These discussions / presentations are also
designed to work toward helping remove the stigma of depres-
sion, mental illness and suicide; as well as discussing solutions
and resources that can help others within our community who
are at risk or who are bereaved by suicide.
I am currently seeking community groups or organisations,
businesses, schools or interested people, who wish to assist in
removing the misconceptions and stigma surrounding mental
illness, depression and suicide.
I have a power point presentation on USB, which I am able to
present, if any interested parties are able to provide me with a
computer linked with either a rear screen projector or televi-
sion. There is a general discussion and information provided as
well as a question segment for any people who wish to seek
more information or validation.

Officially I am in the process of having 'Jaies Journey' regis-
tered as a 'Not for Profit' organisation so that not only will this
ride bring validation and support to people who need it but,
along with my family, we will endeavour to continue helping
people at risk; including bereaved families in their times of
need. I am aware that this will not be an easy task and the
challenges will be ongoing, but it is a task that I shall bear and
with us, our many supporters.
