The document summarizes a multi-country partnership project called "Around Europe in 80 Days: A Bet for a G.E.T." where students from 9 European countries worked together over multiple years to raise environmental awareness and build models of green towns. The project involved students learning about environmental issues, creating a comic and illustrated lexicon, and investigating sustainable practices in their countries. Students testified that the project helped them make new friends, learn about other cultures, and develop their communication skills while also becoming more environmentally conscious.
Notre projet " Around Europe in 80 days ; a bet for a G.E.T ( Greener European Town) » avait pour
4. STUDENT TESTIMONIES
The most important thing, I think, is that I met many people from different countries. I also
learnt that everybody can do something for the environnement, like recycling or using less water.
I have underdtood that it is a pity that people should care about our planet and not do anything
for the environnement. In our project, the aim wasn’t only learning about protecting the
environnement but also learning about other cultures, learning about their way of life, making
new friends and opening ourselves to other people and other cultures.

I think that the comenius project was an awsome project because it gave me a lot of ideas for the
future. I’m more respectful of the planet and of the environment. It also made me travel in
Europe. Our experience and all the work we have done have obviously changed our way of
thinking. It was really great to spend some time and do activities with all these students from all
over Europe. I’d like to thank comenius because it has given me an outlook of what I would like
to do in the future.

5. We began the comenius project in 2011- I was in 4ème
then. First we made a logo for the project
but our logo wasn’t the best and it was the Turkish logo which was chosen. The students and the
teachers went to Greece for the first meeting then, in March 2012, all the partners came to
France. With all the students and teachers we were more than a hundred working all together. I
hosted a boy from Portugal. His name is Pedro and we became very good friends. During the five
days he spent in France, we laughed and shared a lot. This experience was very enriching and
now I know more about the culture of Portugal. In 2012 and 2013 we worked on the drawing of
the plans of our Green Town and then we built it. It was a great project. My only regret was that
I couldn’t go to the meeting in Portugal to see Pedro because of health problems but I hope that
one day it will be possible.

6. My trips to Greece and to Portugal were the first ones without my parents. It was really a great
experience even if my penfriends weren’t really sociable. I had never been to these countries and
so I discovered new ways of life, new cultures, new habits and ways of thinking. The concept of
working in groups on ecology with people you don’t know was really interesting and it helps
make new friends with whom I still chat online. The different activities we had were enriching
and it gave me the opportunity to improve my English.

I spent a wonderful time in Germany. It is a very beautiful country with very friendly and
welcoming people. I worked in a group on our comenius project. We wrote the chapter of the
comic strip which takes place in Germany. We visited Trotsberg and went to very beautiful
Christmas market. I discovered that Germany is a very ecological country and very green too. I
also met students from all the other countries which gave me the opportunity to practise my
English and my Spanish . It was reall an amazing experience !
