MY OCCUPATIONAL
IDENTITY
Growing up I spent a lot of time around the marae with my family, this was generally
at tangi’s and celebrations, but this is where I learnt a lot of my values from
This is a photo of me with my hockey team, I participated in hockey from the age of
5 to 16, this had a large impact on creating my occupational identity.
Being a mum, is probably the biggest thing that creates my occupational identity as
there are many occupations based around this, this is a photo of me and my son
Lincoln.
Cooking/ Baking is an occupation that I engage in and find fulfilment from. This
is a cake I baked for my sister in-laws baby shower
This is a photo of me and my son on a boat, we had been swimming and
wakeboarding, outdoor adventures is something I love, this is play
I worked and observed on the elder persons orthopaedics ward in the
Waikato hospital for fieldwork placement one. During this placement my
view changed on working with elderly people.

Being a occupational therapy student creates my occupational identity and will
help me to achieve becoming an occupational therapist. This is a photo of the
students I worked with after the public participation workshop we did for human
occupation
On my second fieldwork I went to Stewart Rehabilitation services, this
service helped people who had suffered from a brain injury, it was the first
time I had dealt with people who had sustained long term brain injuries.

Socializing with friends, as my friends also have an affect on who I am,
this is photo of me and my friends at a birthday.
Lastly, reading I engage in this when I can, I love to read. This is my favourite book
The Bronze Horseman and have read it four times.
