4. Being surrounded by great people of faith
encourages one from doubt to trust; from hope
to conviction; from idleness to action
Faith’s Expectation
Describing a runner who has been disqualified from
running in the race because he broke the rules.
When one takes his eyes off Jesus and begins to
look at his fellow saint for direction his pace is
upended. When one looks at the suffering in the
world rather than the one who brings all comfort;
when one looks at the sinners in the church rather
than the one who did no sin; when one looks at how
some church is “getting it done” rather than looking
at how Jesus got it done he LOOSES GROUND.
There is an agony
Christians must
endure to finish the
race set before us!
Let us never tire,
never weary, and
never ever give up!
