OUR FIRST
SCENES
This is the first 50 seconds of our music video
which begins within one location that we
would like a large portion of our music video
to be shot in; Leake Street Tunnel. This shot
will transfer from a long shot to a mid shot as
Mikah walks to wards the camera. This will
last for 12 seconds and then will cut to a 360°
panoramic shot of Mikah with Chatham at
night in the background. The next two shots
will be mid shots and close ups of Mikah and
her hand whilst driving through Medway
Tunnel. Following this shot will be another
360° shot of Mikah whilst she is within the
tunnel or the abandoned warehouse, which is
another location that we are looking to film.
The next five second shot will be of Mikah
sitting on a set of stairs with a prop (the bat)
on her shoulder. The next few shots will be
variations between close ups and long shots,
allowing us to focus on Mikah's mouth when
she is singing, and also her facial expressions
to emphasise the lyrics from the songs. Long
shots will also show Mikah's style that we
have created and will also allow her body
language to speak to the audience.
PAGE 2
On our second page of our storyboard, we
look at shots between 50secs-1min,40secs.
This is where it is clear that we are going to
use a variety of shots. For example, 50-53secs
will show a long shot of Mikah leaning
against a graffiti wall in Leake Street. This will
then cut to an extreme close up of Mikah's
lips. It is also obvious within this page of the
storyboard that we will be using a different
amount of quick shots and longer shots. This
will depend on the beat of the music and the
lyrics. For example, 1min,20secs to
1min,30secs is one of our longer shots
compared to 55secs-59secs. This will then
allow for continuity within our music video
but also allows us to make the most of the
beats of the music and it also gives us
opportunities to carry out Andrew Goodwin’s
Theory.
FINAL PAGE
• On our final page, we show that we want Mikah to be
walking with us. This would allow us within this one shot to
include long and mid shots as well as close ups. This would
then allow us to put into action Goodwin’s theory of Mikah
having her trademark on show (her piercings). The following
shots will be long and close up shots of Chrissy dancing.
These will be fairly quick cuts between different angles, one
looking up to show her as powerful and another POV shot
from the audiences straight on perspective. Other shots
following this will be a slow motion one of mikah looking
up at the camera. We like the idea of this being slightly out
of focus to show the distorted life of a ‘gangsta’. Again, this
will be a close up in order to show off Mikah's trademark.
The next shot will be a longer one of 8secs. This will be
within a car and will allow for a variety of close ups and mid
shots to show Mikah's expressions within the car. This will
then make a link between the visuals and the lyrics where
mikah is talking about ‘ride or die’. This will be connected
through the ‘ride’ in the car. The final shots will be a
collection of shots of mikah walking away from the camera
in different locations that we have filmed in. This shows like
she is finishing the performance that she has put on for the
audience, but also that she is now going off into these
different locations to find her ‘gangsta’. This shot will be a
long shot to give a final over view of Mikah clothing and her
style, in order to leave a lasting impression on the audience.
