Shakira was born in 1977 in Barranquilla, Colombia to a middle-class family. She was influenced by rock music as a child and cites John Lennon as her biggest musical influence. Shakira has won numerous awards, including two Grammys and ten Latin Grammys. Some of her most popular songs include "Hips Don't Lie", "Whenever, Wherever", and "Waka Waka". She dated Antonio de la Rua for 11 years before they separated in 2011. She is currently dating Gerard Pique of FC Barcelona.
