How Automation is Driving Efficiency Through the Last Mile of Reporting
[LU] Multi-asset partnerships case study
1. Multi-Asset
Partnerships
We build partnerships based on high
standards of individual service, not one-size-
fits-all. Sometimes, an individual client may
need several sizes to be sure of just the right
fit for all occasions.
2. Private banking distribution channel gets closer to its customers
using innovative reporting by NN Investment Partners
The challenge
Our approach
Value to our partner
Our partner, a private bank that functions as a distribution channel for a bespoke range of multi-
asset funds managed by NN Investment Partners, was looking for ways to raise the level of its
service to its private-banking customers across three different languages. Our partner was seeking
innovative ways of better informing its clients, ways that would make it stand out from the
competition.
For NN Investment Partners, this challenge became an opportunity to update, enhance and expand
our reporting formats. Our multi-asset boutique responded by creating a personalized monthly
update concept. This involved the production of video reports in which NN Investment Partners’
portfolio managers and client representatives discuss recent macroeconomic developments and
market activity, as well as detailed insights into our investment views, decisions and positioning.
One video, produced in three languages, is sent directly by e-mail to the retail end-clients. A second
video provides a higher level of technical detail and background and is sent to our distribution
partners, the private bankers, to better equip them to inform their clients.
Our innovative approach benefits not only our partner, but also our partner’s partners, the retail
private banking clients that make use of NN Investment Partners’ multi-asset funds. The technical
background video increases our private-banking partner’s expertise and ability to help end-clients
navigate financial markets. The end-clients, in turn, receive fast periodic updates on developments
affecting their investments, in their own in-boxes and in their own languages. By providing virtual
face-to-face briefings from the portfolio managers who manage their clients’ money, our partner
has been able to raise their personal service by providing these retail investors direct access to
professional insight and specialist knowledge.
