2. SHOT REVERSE SHOT
The first shot is of Amber (The jealous chum)
arguing with Lucy (the Girlfriend). Here the
camera is on the right side of her shoulder
but behind her head
The second shot happens immediately
after the first but has been reversed so
that the camera is on the left side of
amber and facing Lucy. By doing this we
are sticking to the 180 degree rule and
have produced shot reverse shot.
3. SHOT REVERSE SHOT

• What effect does it create?
The effect it gives is a more
dynamic conversation between
the two characters.
Also we are able to feel more
involved in the conversation as
we are seeing everything form
there perspective
4. 180 DEGREE RULE
We incorporated the 180 degree rule into our film as shown by the
picture above. To keep to the 180 degree rule we took a shot over
Lucy’s right shoulder and a shot over Ambers left.
5. 180 DEGREE RULE
• Lets look at this shot again……
By doing this it does not cause the viewer
any confusion and keeps the consistency
of the film.
6. MATCH ON ACTION
Here in the first shot we
have a shot of Lucy from
behind walking in a room
at the start of the short film
The second shot is the same
action, Lucy walking into the
room but the camera has
been flipped so we can see
her from the front
7. MATCH ON ACTION
• Lets look at this shot again…..
• What effect des it create?
This shot allows the viewer to keep the fluidity of
the film and NO confusion occurs
