2 Trains travelling towards each other
at speeds of 66 & 54 Km p.h. are 2 KM
apart. Lengths of these trains are 300
& 450 meters respectively. How much
time will they take to pass each other?
• Total speed = 66+54 = 120
• Speed in m/s = 120 *5/18 =33.33
(100/3)
• Time = distance / speed
• 2750 /(100/3) = 82.5

At what rate were the bananas sold per
dozen, if by bargaining to get one
banana per rupee more, I saved Re. 1
Per dozen. (1) 4 (2) 3 (3)8 (4) 12
• Let us assume that we are getting banana
@ X per Dozen.
• ((12/x) +1) gives us rate of X-1
• Now try from options.
• Let us try for 1st
option. 12/4 = 3, we get 4
banana per Re. 1. now we get 12 banana for
Rs. 3. thus this is the answer.

There is a traianlge with
sides 5, 12, 13, what is its
area?
• It is a right angle triangle, there
fore area : ½ * 5*12 = 30
• Or use detailed hero formulae:
• ½ (5+12+13) = 15
• Sqrt (15* (15-5) * (15-12) * (15-13)) =
= sqrt (15*10*3*2) = 30

The previous triangle revolves around
its hypoteneuse, what is its volume?
• It is the case of a cone. The hypoteneuse
is 13 – it becomes height.
• Radius is to be calculated. ½ *5*12 = ½ *13
*R ; R = 60 /13
• 1/3 *pi*60/13 * 60 /13 *13 =
• 1/3*3.142857*60/13*60 = 290 sq. m.

We want to make 21600 a cube. Which
is the smallest number we should
multiply or divide to it?
• Let us factorise 21600.
• =2*2*2*3*3*3*2*2*5*5
• We should multiply it by 10 ans.

A general wishing to draw up 64025
men in the form of a solid square finds
that he has 16 soldiers extra. What is
the number of soldiers in his front row?
• 64025-16 = 64009
• Square root of 64009 = 253
• Therefore there are 253 soldiers in
front row.

I earn Rs. 1500 by investing in 15 %
debentures. I pay 1% brokerage. What
is my investment? What is my
investment if market price is 104?
• Investment is 1500 * 100 / 15 =
10000
• Add brokerage to this:
• 10000 + 100 = 10100 ans.
• If market price is 104:
• 104/100 *10000 = 10400
• Add brokerage : 10400 +104 = 10504
