Usb Nfc Reader: NFC System Now Available in Android
Phones

Nfc Card Reader Guides
At present, you can now identify or track a person, animal, or object using a wireless non-
contact system. An object fitted with RFID tag for example can be identified what it is or
where it is currently located using the data stored in the tag which will be read by the RFID
reader.

Uses of RFID
Currently, RFID system is widely used in different industries. Industries that rely on
identification and tracking use RFID to manage their assets and inventories properly. For
example, RFID tags are used in mobile phone production. Workers can easily follow the
progress of the devices by simply scanning the items. RFID technology is also used in
livestock because tracking farm animals is important to maintain quality control inside the
farm. Even if a farmer has hundreds of cows in his farm, he can identify his prized cow by
merely scanning the RFID chip embedded in the animal.
Radio Frequency Identification Tags

RFID system is also applied in transfer of payment electronically. Mobile phones equipped
with RFID chip can be used to pay for items electronically while the device can also be used
as an RFID reader. The chip inside these devices contains your bank account information so
you can use your phone to pay for items in the same manner as you would use your credit
card. Of course, since the RFID chip contains your sensitive information, security features
are added to the system for safe transactions.

RFID Technology Today
Nowadays, you can use RFID to track or identify personal belongings. This is because the
technology is made affordable for everyone to use. The technology is very affordable, a tag
can costs from 5 cents to a hundred dollars depending on the design. RFID tags are now
available for pets to allow owners easy tracking of the animals. A pet that is tagged can be
identified easily using a RFID reader. If for instance, you pet can ran away, a person who
picked your pet can identify the owner and address using a scanner like the USB RFID
reader which is available universally.

Current mobile phones are equipped with another technology that would allow owners to
communicate, share information, and even pay bills using their smart phones. Talking to our
friends, family members, and co-workers is now the most basic function of smart phones.
Today, some smart phones can be used to pay for our bills, gather information from other
devices, and even socialize with other people. This trend is possible through the technology
known as NFC or Near Field Communication. This technology turns phones into an
information reader and sharer.
What is NFC and how it Works
NFC which stands for Near Field Communication is a type of communication or exchange of
data that relies on electromagnetic radio fields. This innovation can be likened to Bluetooth or
Wi-Fi. NFC allows exchange of data without use of wires. RFID is another system that is
close to what NFC does but the latter must be close to other NFC devices for the technology
to work.

NFC is available in two forms?passive and active NFC.

Passive devices are similar to posts on the wall. The post only contains information for you to
read. For example, a magazine with a tag may contain additional information which you may
read if you scan the code using your NFC enabled device.

The other type is active which are electronic devices which can extract information from a
passive NFC. In the example given earlier, the active NFC system is available in the smart
phone. The phone is equipped with a system that can acquire data from the passive barcode
in the magazine. What phones and tablets with active NFC system can do is interpret
information from passive tags while you can also alter the information if it is included in the
program.

NFC Technology on Android Devices
Some android phones are capable of using the technology for commerce and security.
Certain brands are fitted with NFC technology so users can use their phones for commerce
and security purposes.

Currently, there are brands equipped with NFC system. Samsung, LG, HTC, and Sony have
fitted their phones with NFC technology so users can simply gather and share data through
electromagnetic radio field. Other function of NFC on android includes interpreting data from
a passive tag. You can also download a third party app that would turn your android phone
into a barcode scanner so you can get additional data and even pair your device with other
phones.
