1. National Guild of Piano Teachers:
Providing Goals and Awards for
Piano Students Since 1929
The largest music school in Palo Alto, California, New Mozart School of Music
has been providing high-quality music and voice lessons since 2004. New
Mozart School of Music holds membership with the National Guild of Piano
Teachers.
For more than 80 years the National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT) has served
as an organization dedicated to establishing a non-competitive environment in
which piano students of all ages and abilities can pursue defined goals and
awards. As the world’s biggest nonprofit organization of piano teachers and
students, NGPT boasts over 850 audition centers, and enrolls thousands of
students each year through its international auditions.
When students audition through NGPT, judges provide constructive feedback to
encourage pianist growth. Judges evaluate students in the areas of accuracy,
dynamics, rhythm, style, and technique, among several other categories.
NGPT offers a wide array of teacher membership benefits as well as student
awards. A sample of program categories available for students includes jazz,
duet, ensemble, international composition, and social music.
