• Refers to teeth that are smaller than normal
• Transmitted as an autosomal dominant with
incomplete penetrance
3. Types
• True generalised–All the teeth are smaller than
normal. It occurs in pituitary dwarfism, Downs
syndrome and congenital heart disease.
• Related generalised – normal or slightly smaller
than normal teeth. It is hereditary. spacing
between the teeth
• Localised – involves only single tooth. Congenital
heart diseases, Downs syndrome and progeria
4. Clinical features
• Affected teeth are maxillary lateral incisors
and third molars
• Peg shaped lateral in which the mesial and
distal sides converges or Taper incisally.
