1. “ZACATECAS CITY”
The city of Zacatecas is known for its large deposits of silver and other minerals and
colonial architecture as it has important buildings such as the cathedral and the buffa hill.
Zacatecas is divided into 58 municipalities. Its capital of the same name and holds the
titles of the Most Noble and Loyal City of Our Lady of Zacatecas.
The vegetation is varied Zacatecas. In the mountains there are mixed forests of pine and
oak, the trees stay green all year. There are also semi-arid and hosting lots of plants like
cacti. In plains and valleys abound mesquite, governors, huisaches, nopales, ruffs,
guayules and pastures. The fauna of the mountains includes wild boar, white-tailed deer
and hares; plains and valleys commonly found coyotes, badgers, quails and ducks. Other
animals in the region are the rattlesnake, chirrioneros, Alicante, kangaroo rat, field mouse,
wild cats, bats, eagles, wild turkey, mole, gopher, and dwarf scarlet macaw. Zacatecas is
the body of the country in which there are more copies of golden eagle, the national
symbol of Mexico.
The northern area is characterized by dry desert climate, the soil is hard and salty,
hampers agriculture occur only maize and beans.
Climate in the capital is very cold zacatecana since it has become a 2 degrees below zero
in what are the months of December and January.
And how to forget what gives a special touch to Zacatecas, are their women, tequila and
the band making it a lively city.
