The annual SA Reads summer book drive is in full swing. Now through Aug. 22, drop off new or

Summer Dance Hall series features classic Texas dance hall musicians each Wednesday night
through Aug. 27 at the Pearl Stable. Each artist is curated by Doc Watkins. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.,

The Health Collaborative and Speak Your Mind Texas present an open discussion 6-9 p.m. at Whitley

how to recognize the warning signs of mental illness, what actions to take and what resources are

Members of the San Antonio Independent School District community are invited to attend a
rededication ceremony for the newly renovated Alamo Stadium, 110 Tuleta Drive, at 7 p.m. The 74-
year-old stadium, along with the adjacent Alamo Convocation Center, received $35 million in
renovations under the voter-approved 2010 district bond. The ceremony includes a parade of student
athletes, band members and spirit groups around the track.
Esperanza Peace and Justice Center, 922 San Pedro Ave., hosts its monthly Noche Azul de
Esperanza concert with singer/songwriter Azul Barrientos at 8 p.m. She will perform with Aaron
