12. PATH 65 – 3D Motion Control System
Path 65 performs the whole task of operating multiple flying objects simultaneously. The system is
scalable to your requirements and can handle different types of flying objects. The software is written
from scratch for Mac OSX, based on OpenGl for 3D visualization. The system can handle a complex
choreography with high precision. It’s designed to cope with the demands of a tour, show or other
permanent installations. Speedy adjustments can be made through the graphical interface and don’t
require time consuming and error-prone programming of complex algorithms. A set of safety features
make this flying solution a reliable and safe experience for the audience.
With the Path 65 3D Motion Control System the user is able to perform the following tasks:
• Add/remove flying objects to the show
• Draw with the graphical interface multiple 3D flight paths into the current 3D space
• Show control with cues and cue lists
• Visualize the current flying object’s position in a 3D visualization of the venue
• Adjust flight parameters for each flying object
• Import 3D CAD files for object visualization
• Start/stop operation of each flying object on its flight path
• Manual control of each flying object
13. PRODUCTION, PRICING & SERVICES
Gear Factor engages in custom productions of flying solutions for our clients. Our production methods
are quite diversified, so are the materials. We strive always to find the best possible way to convert
your concept into a visually stunning flying object.
• We need to quote on every project respective shape. We don’t work with price lists.
• In order to quote we require reference pictures of the product/concept, information about the
intended location(s), the choreography and if possible a schedule.
• The main cost factor is whether a shape requires 3D milling or can be achieved without it. The
size of the flying object and the overall complication of the shape are factors as well.
• Involve us at an early stage. You can check with us the feasibility of your idea anytime,
e.g. before you present this to your own client or within your organization. Our competent
team will support you all the way to make your project a success.
• Lead time can be anywhere between 2 weeks and 9 weeks.
• We will provide pilot services at your event or show.
14. SAFE TO USE – EVEN AT CROWDED INDOOR LOCATIONS
Gear Factor flying solutions are developed to be safely operated indoors, e.g. in exhibition halls,
convention centers, shopping malls and so on. Most flying objects are so-called slow flyers. We have a
long track record of carrying out events at indoor locations without any incidents:
• Our flying objects are mostly based on lighter-than-air technology (Helium gas).
Helium is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-explosive.
• Flying objects are not filled with any pressure. In case of damage Helium would release
slowly and mix with air.
• Flying objects are ultra-light, e.g. a car weighs only 5.5kg. Filled with Helium gas the
effective weight is 50-100 gram only. The material is soft on the whole surface.
Due to it’s weight, e.g. a flying car can not fall down quickly, but rather sinks upon failure.
• Powered by low-voltage Lithium batteries of highest industry standards.
• Controlled by low-power brushless fan engines, which are operated via remote-control.
• We have a liability insurance with a coverage of 1 Mio US$.
