Little Mix is a four-piece British girl group consisting of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall. They won the X Factor in 2011. The music video for their song "Wings" shows the girls being relaxed, cheerful, and confident as they dance and sing without caring what others think. The video portrays them as role models who send a message about being confident and spreading your wings.
2. MEMBERS
• Four-piece girl group, winners of the X Factor 2011
• Perrie Edwards – 19 from South Shields
• Jesy Nelson – 21 from Romford, faced cyber-bullying during
the X Factor – possibly an explanation behind the song
‘wings’
• Leigh-Anne Pinnock – 21 from High Wycombe

3. REPRESENTATIONS
• The video shows the girls being relaxed, cheerful and not caring about
anything else.
• Current.
• Happy and positive which would allow them to act as role models to
younger girls and send out a message to be confident and ‘spread your
wings’.
• They appear to be attractive and some would say they have a good eye
for fashion which appeals to a young female audience.
• Each time there is just one person on screen they each have their own
background which relates to their personalities.
• Always dancing, if they’re not doing a routine they’re improvising to
show their enthusiasm.
• Subtle movements that relate to the lyrics, e.g. ‘I’m not listening’ Jade
puts her hand to her ear.
• Lots of effort has gone into their hair make-up and outfits, shows
they’re girly but not typical girly girls. E.g. Leigh-Anne wears a hat and
they wear trainers etc.
