Course Related work experience:
Internee at Oil & Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) Pakistan: (January 2015 –
February 2015)
I have done 1 month internship at OGDCL in Mud logging Unit. My internship started on
January 2015 and ended in February 2015. During this one month internship period I got a

2. chance to work in both office and field. Our field trip was arranged at OGDCL Dakni N-5 rig in
the area of Jand which is a successful rig. During my internship I learned following things.
 Gained basic knowledge of all 3 Rig systems (hoisting system, rotary system and
circulation system), rig components and sensors.
 Learned to calculate all the necessary measures to ensure well security and success.
 Sample collection from vibrator, cleaning the samples, drying the samples, microscopic
analysis of the drill cuttings obtained in the sample, performing calcimitric tests etc
 Learned all the basic laboratory techniques and use of equipments in the mud unit.
 Learned various drilling perimeters like pit volume, rate of penetration, mud flow rate etc
Voluntarily Helping of a Senior University Fellow in his “MS Level” Thesis Work: (2014 –
Present)
I am helping my senior University colleague in his M.S thesis on “log interpretation” of two wells
(Fimkassar – I & Fimkassar – II). These wells are the projects of Oil & Gas Development
Company Limited (OGDCL) Pakistan. The major objectives we will achieve with this thesis are
to learn about following things.
 Various petrophysical properties of rocks.
 Learn about different kind of logging techniques.
 To learn well log interpretations.
 Learn to use a logging interpretation software “GeoGraphix”.
Field Experience (2010-2011):
The topic of my final year thesis was “Reservoir Characteristics of Lumshiwal & Kawagarh
Formations Along Abbottabad Nathiagali Road, District Abbottabad, Pakistan”, which
incuded extensive field work of 28 days. During the Field work of my final year thesis I
performed following duties.
 Divided the study area into 45 intervals.
 Performed fracture analysis in all the 45 stations in the study area and measured the
readings.
 Calculated dip & strike of the fractures to measure fracture density and note down the
readings.
 Measured length and width of the fractures and illustrated the readings
 Observed if there is any sort of filling material inside the fractures to identify open and
closed fractures and noted the data.
 Observed any cross cutting between fractures and illustrated the findings.
 Plotted all the data on M.S Excel sheet.
 Calculated secondary porosity and permeability.
 Published a report on the basis of the findings about secondary porosity and
permeability of these fractures.
