organizations. He was Executive Director for Quality
Innovation for Blue Cross Blue Shield Association,
Washington, DC. Prior to BCBSA, Dr. Pawlson was
Executive Vice President of the National Committee for
Quality Assurance (NCQA), where for over a decade he
led the development of its research, measurement and
contracting activities, overseeing the ongoing development
of the widely used HEDIS clinical performance measures.
