A still life (plural still lives) is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter,
typically commonplace objects which may be either natural (food, flowers, plants,
rocks, or shells) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes,
and so on).
In this activity we will work with flat shapes, lines and textures to create an Still life
composition.
First of all you have to copy by pencil one of the compositions below on your sketch
book. After that, you will have to recreate that composition using the collage
technique. You may use newspapers, magazines, colour cards or any kind of paper
you want. You should think that every object is a flat shape, start working in the
background and put all the objects in layers until the foreground.
To finish your Art work use the pencil or the felt tip pen to draw the lines or some
details.
