This is a slide which aims at promoting PDHPE education in New South Wales Schools.

1.  Results from a survey conducted in 2007-08,
showed that 61.4% of the Australian population are
either overweight or obese.

2. “Health is a state of complete
physical, mental and social well-
being, and not merely the absence of
disease and infirmity.”
(World Health Organisation)

3. It is concerned with the development
of the whole person and the
improvement of quality of life for all
students.
Aims:
•Encourage an understanding and
valuing of oneself and others;
•develops an ability in students to
make informed decisions in their lives;
• promotes lifelong involvement in
physical activity.
(Board of Studies, 2007)

5.  The state of Australian Health is dire and
PDHPE education is capable of targeting
these issues earlier.
 It is a subject like all key subjects, such as
English, Mathematics and Science which
are of great educational importance.
