2. Criteria #1
For my volunteering i decided to volunteer at
the Okanagan College for the kids camps that
they had in the summer. I only volunteered for
two weeks. There I would help in one of the
camps, for the first week i helped in the chef
camp and in the second week i helped in the
Lego camp. i would stay from 8:30 to 3:30 and
after the two weeks, I had volunteered for 70
hours.
3. Criteria #2
The College Kids camps helps provide care for
the kids while the parents are at work and let
the kids go to a camp about something that they
are interested in learning more about.
4. Criteria #3 and #4
At the camps i would help the kids and at break watch
them. I was a lot of help to keep the kids busy and not
bored. In the first week i was with the chef camp and the
kids were grade 4-6 and I had to help them cook. Since
there was 20 of them, it would have been hard for the
teacher who ran the camp to do it by himself. In the second
week I was in the Lego camp which again the kids were
from grade 4-6 and i helped them build Lego cars, even
though I didn’t know anything about Lego, I still got their
cars to work and got their cars to work when they had
trouble.
5. Criteria #5
At the Kids camp if they ever needed help in a
different camp i would go to that one.
Sometimes I would have to sort Lego for the
day and other times I would go to a different
camp such as the time machine camp but for
the most part of it, I was in the Chef camp the
first week and the Lego camp the second week,
but I did leave a couple times to help a different
camp. Also I came on time and was nice to the
kids. I also had to help them out when they
needed it.
