I am involved in exploring advances in marine navigation, airborne topographic and bathymetric lidar technologies and general trends in map and geospatial technology including new social trends such as Crowdsourcing/OpenStreetMap etc. I focus on how these issues can help in business development and expansion into new markets. Previously I participated in several marine electronic charting initiatives. including Canadian Electronic Chart Pilot Project and more recently a study on the use and effectiveness of carry-on Portable Pilotage Units (PPUs) by professional marine pilots.
