Most parks in Australia provide free barbecues for public use. Popular things that are eaten in Australia are Steaks, pork chops, sausages, fish, kebabs, kangaroo, crocodile, emu, and bush tucker. Popular deserts are tim-tams, which are chocolate fudge-filled sandwiches made of two chocolate biscuits dipped in chocolate, the lamington which is a sponge cake with chocolate icing and dipped in coconut, and ANZAC biscuits which are a mix of coconiut, oats, flour, sugar, and golden syrup.. The drinking age is 18, and most restaurants will often serve beer or wine, while other restaurants are Bring Your Own Bottle.

The most popular beaches are Bondi Beach in Sydney, and Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. There are many lakes to visit as well. Popular water attractions are snorkelling, especially by the Great Barrier Reef, and scuba diving. Bushwalking, rock climbing, mountain biking, and horse back riding are popular outdoor activities as well. Many australians and tourists enjoy going sky diving and hot air ballooning around the country also.

There are also hostels available to stay at, which is popular with backpackers. However, camping is a great way to accomodae your stay in Australia. Most cities and towns have caravan parks for camping, and many can be found by the beaches. National parks and State parks often have free camping sites as well. There are many holiday homes and bed & breakfsts to stay atr well, There are also many resorts around. Many farm owners will rent out rooms for a few days as well in return for working on the farm.
