1. “5 Secrets That Will Help You Pass Midterm
Essays”
Written by Matt Dlouhy
Congratulations! You have made it half way through your semester. Now you have to pass your
group projects, exams, and midterm essays in order to maintain your GPA. This is a stressful
time because your teachers are most likely bombarding you with more work than you can handle.
Midterm essays are very crucial to pass because they can be worth up to 20% of your overall
class grade. But don’t panic! This is a good thing! Midterm essays are your best friend because
they are an easy way for you to gain points in your class.
Instead of worrying about your midterm essays, you need to find a way to pass them. If you have
no idea how you could possibly pass your midterm essays, here are a few tips that could help.
1. Do not be afraid to write your essay
2. President Franklin D. Roosevelt once said “there is nothing to fear but fear itself.” Midterm
essays sound scarier than they really are because most people panic before they even start
writing. Just close your eyes, breathe in, breathe out, and start writing when you are relaxed.
2. Read the textbook
Midterm essays are way cooler than exams because you will not get in trouble for looking up
information. Think about it this way, you paid $200 for your textbook, instead of using it as a
paperweight, try reading it.
3. Get some sleep
Essays are extremely hard to write when you are tired. Try to get between seven to eight hours of
sleep before you write your essay.
4. Go for a walk
Walking is an easy and free way to clear your distracted mind. Take a break when you feel
exhausted and give yourself time to reflect on your thoughts before you return to your essay.
5. Take advice from students who have passed midterm essays
There are thousands of students who have written midterm essays. Follow their suggestions if
they are willing to share their strategies with you. There is also an easy way to gain some advice
if nobody is willing to spill their secrets. Students of California State University Dominguez
Hills have recently published an e-book titled, “Top 25 Essentials for Media Writers.” Students
of Com 366 were willing to share their personal strategies that have helped them write and pass
their assignments.
