11. Health Planning WHAT IF I AM UNDERPENSIONABLE AGE? New legislation in the region of Valencia only, states that you may pay 270€ per quarter aged less than 65 (330€ if over 65) to “buy into” the Spanish State system – a distinct benefit if you already have a progressive illness. For those in current good health, Private Healthcare can be less expensive and provide valuable additional benefits.
12. Health Planning ANYTHING ELSE…? Yes, form E121 may also be issued to persons in receipt of UK long term disability benefit. Form E106 is issued for cover for up to 2 years on arrival in Spain and for those who are on temporary work transfer from the UK to Spain. The UK issued EHIC (formerly E111) will no longer be accepted for use in Spain once you have moved here permanently – it is for emergency treatment on holiday visits to Spain only – you may be asked to repay the cost of inappropriate use. Since 1st April 2008, British Nationals residing in Spain must present the Spanish equivalent of the EHIC (Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea) when seeking emergency medical treatment while on holiday in the UK. If this card is not presented, you may be charged in the UK for treatment. If you work in Spain (employed or self employed) and pay Spanish NI contributions, you therefore fully qualify for a SIP card and treatment within the Spanish healthcare system.
13. Health Planning PLANNED TREATMENT If you reside in Spain & wish to visit the UK to obtain planned treatment for an existing condition, you should obtain form E112 from the Spanish authorities. Advise the hospital of your choice that you wish to use form E112. Produce it at the UK hospital where treatment is scheduled or you will be charged for treatment as an overseas visitor. RETURNING TO THE UK If you wish to return to live permanently in the UK, you must de-register with the Spanish authorities and re-register with a GP in the UK to re-enter the NHS system.

90. Funeral Planning TO MAKE ALL OF THIS EASIER, AT WHAT WILL BE ONE OF THE HARDEST TIMES IN YOUR LIVES, WHAT NOT CONSIDER TAKING OUT A FUNERAL PLAN.
94. The cost in one go or through “easy payments” is quite large and eats into capital.
95. Not many people have the cash available to pay a large amount in one go.
96. The everage cost of these plans depending on what is chosen WAS£2800 per person (2007) to buy a 4,000€ funeral. (lately, Sterling & the Euro are closer in value).
101. There is no single large payment - one small annual premium.
102. There is no medical check before joining - just a couple of general health questions.
103.
104. The premium only increases when the Government increase the overall cost of funerals in Spain.
105. You can join the scheme up to the age of 74 but as long as your payments continue you are covered whatever age you are lucky enough to reach.
106. You are covered immediately for accidental death and after 20 days for death by natural causes.
107.
108. We work closely with the Tanatorios and have done for many years.
109. If you die elsewhere in the world you have the option to be brought back to Spain for your funeral.
110. Or - the plan offers a cash payment towards a funeral in the country in which you die.
111.
112. You get to keep your capital - to leave to your heirs.
113. If capital of 8,000€ is invested (the average cost in Spain of funerals for a couple) the annual interest earned on the investment might well cover the cost of the annual ASSSA premium.
