KEY PROJECTS
February 2011-June 2011: “Eye tracking system using derivative dynamic time warping”
Technology: MATLAB-7 Release-12
Objective: Use of technological intervention to enhance independence of
paralyzed individuals
Description:
• An attempt was made to develop a low cost alternative eye tracking system, where in the movement
of the human eyes was used as an input signal to facilitate movement of a motorized wheel chair.
• Like the current brain computer interface systems, eye tracking systems can also provide real time
response. From these motivations, the eye tracking systems have been conducted.
• Extraction of the face portion from the image under different light conditions & background objects
was a very challenging task.
• Implementing the derivative time wrapping algorithm to determine any movement in any part of the
face. Hough transform is used to detect any circular portion in face which is similar to eye in the
filtered image of face.
June 2010-Present: “Nanotechnology” at “National Level Technical Symposium”, at Senguthr College
of Engineering, Erode.
• Importance of Nanotechnology in the medical treatment of Human Being in the future.
• Scope of Nanotechnology & use of nanorobots in medical treatment of humans.
March 2009-Present: “Time Management” at EDC (Entrepreneurship Development Cell).
4. Time management ideas in-order to complete projects in time.
Resource management as an essential part of time management.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
• Secured second prize at “National Level Project Exhibition” competition conducted by BCE,
uniqueness of the project in order to make the handicapped people of the society to be self-
independent.
• Attended a workshop on “Autonomous Robotics” held at NIT, Suratkal. Construction of
Line follower robot in relation with image processing & various application of robotics were
discussed.
• Volunteer, Red Cross Blood Donation Camp. Encouraged many students to donate blood & also
discussed the medical benefits of donating blood.
