Honoke`Ä is a valley in the center of PololÅ« & Waipi`o. It marks the boundary between Kohala & HÄmÄkua. Very few visitors because of the extremely steep valley balls.

Also, a play on kihi loa. A native of HÄmÄkua is said to avoid meeting strangers. Because of bashfulness or disinclination to share his possessions, he will turn aside (kihi) and go a long way away (loa)
