Tutankhamon's tomb was discovered in 1922 in the Valley of the Kings containing many treasures. Inside were three nested sarcophagi decorated with lapis lazuli surrounding the mummified pharaoh. Over 3,500 objects were found, including ceremonial thrones and a piece with hieroglyphics honoring Tutankhamon and his wife. Modern scanning techniques have provided insights into the pharaoh's possible appearance. Many of the artifacts are now on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
