1. The Colosseum, also known as Flavius is an amphitheater built in the period of ancient Rome.
Located in central Rome, is an exception among the amphitheaters by volume and
architectural importance. Originally capable of housing close to 50 000 people, and 48 feet
high, was used for various shows and took between eight to ten years to be built.
The Coliseum is currently the largest tourist attraction in Rome with thousands of tourists
paying to view the interior arena, though entrance for EU citizens is subsidized, and free for
Europeans under 18 and over 65
