3. • In human anatomy of the leg, the femoral
sheath has three compartments. The lateral
compartment contains the femoral artery,
the intermediate compartment contains
the femoral vein, and the medial and
smallest compartment is called the femoral
canal.
• BORDERS:-
anterosuperiorly by the inguinal
ligament
• posteriorly by the pectineal ligament lying
anterior to the superior pubic ramus
• Medially by the lacunar ligament
• Laterally by the femoral vein

FEMORAL TRIANGEL
4. HUNTER’S CANAL
BORDERS:-
• Anterior: Sartorius.
• Lateral: Vastus medialis.
• Posterior: Adductor longus and adductor magnus.
Content :-
• The canal contains the following:
• Femoral artery,
• Femoral vein, and
• Branches of the femoral nerve (specifically, the
saphenous nerve, and the nerve to the vastus medialis)
• Clinical Relevance:-
• Adductor Canal Block
• Adductor Canal Compression Syndrome

5. The muscular lacuna (Latin: lacuna
musculorum) is the lateral compartment
of the thigh inferior to the inguinal
ligament, for the passage of the iliopsoas
muscle, the femoral nerve and the lateral
cutaneous nerve of the thigh; it is
separated by the iliopectineal arch from
the vascular lacuna.

The vascular lacuna (Latin: lacuna
vasorum) is the compartment beneath
the inguinal ligament which allows for
passage of the femoral vessels,[1] lymph
vessels and lymph nodes. Its boundaries
are the iliopectineal arch, the inguinal
ligament, the lacunar ligament, and the
superior border of the pubis. The
structures found in the vascular lacuna,
from medial to lateral, are:
LACUNA MUSCULORUM LACUNAVASORUM
6. POPLITEAL FOSSA
Superomedial border – semimembranosus
Superolateral border – biceps femoris.
Inferomedial border – medial head of the gastrocnemius.
Inferolateral border – lateral head of the gastrocnemius and
