students’ averages will be calculated as follows in an on-level class:
Summative Assessments (tests, projects, and major essays) …………………………..60%
Formative Assessments (quizzes, classwork, homework, etc.) ……..…………….…..…..40%
Students will be assigned a minimum of seven grades per six-weeks grading period. Of the grades assigned each six-
weeks, at least two will be summative in nature (tests, projects, or major essays) and at least five will be formative
in nature (quizzes, classwork, homework, etc.). Students will know the weight of all assignments in advance and will
be provided with a rubric or criterion list whenever possible. All students will receive a progress report three weeks into
the six-weeks grading period.
RETEST POLICY:
In accordance with the Colleyville Heritage High School grading guidelines, a student may retest, redo, or correct failing
summative assessments (tests, projects, and/or major essays). Students must receive re -teaching outside of regular
class time before they are eligible to retest, correct, or redo a summative assessment. Students will have a designated
time frame of two days within five school days of receiving the original failing grade to retest, redo, or correct a
summative assessment. Semester exams are not eligible for re-testing, and a student will only be allowed to re-test,
redo, or correct each summative assignment once.
LATE WORK POLICY:
In accordance with the Colleyville Heritage High School grading guidelines, students are allowed to turn in a minimum

six-weeks (whichever comes first). Additional late work is not required to be accepted.

collaborative work as independent work; fabricating data, information and sources; and failing to use proper citations.
