The word a must always be used with this
infinitive construction. It will follow the
conjugated form of the verb ir.

The second or third verb in an infinitive
construction is not conjugated, so it
will retain its –ar, –er, or –ir ending.

This is also an infinitive construction…
‘We are going to begin!’ or ‘Let’s begin!’

manejar (to drive)

10. “¿Qué vas a hacer este fin de semana?”
Voy a manejar el coche.

Voy a comer en un restaurante.

(go to the zoo)

You can also shorten that statement
and just say… Voy al zoológico.

to express what we are
not going to do.

lavar la ropa
(I am not going to wash the clothes…)

No voy a lavar la ropa.
To make the statement negative and
say what you are not going to do,
you simply add the word ‘no’ in front
of the first verb.

38. “¿Qué vas a hacer este fin de semana?”
lavar los
platos
(I am not going to wash the dishes.)

39. “¿Qué vas a hacer este fin de semana?”
No voy a lavar los platos.

40. “¿Qué vas a hacer este fin de semana?”
(I am not going to do exercise.)
