• We have chosen this genre as one of our three potential
ideas as it has a calming, relaxed pace allowing us to
create a music video with meaning and depth.
• Also, this genre gives us a lot of room for ideas as we
are not restricted to certain conventions that might be
found in a different genre such as Pop.
3. AUDIENCE
Teenagers/Young adults - Niche
• Because of the genre of indie/alternative, this is
predominantly the audience as generally songs through
the genre will focus on issues that teenagers/young
adults may be affected by – such as relationships.
5. THEORIES
• Through this video, connotations of rebellion, judgement
and freedom are made through the setting – this is due
to the vast, gloomy marsh in which the video was filmed.
This is stereotypical for the indie/alternate genre as
using a secluded and remote setting allows for creativity,
opportunity and flexibility.
6. IDEAS
• Filming in a remote, overgrown forest/field.
• Beach setting – breaking and crashing waves creating
impact.
• Slow paced shots to create calmness.
• Close up and still shots giving themes of normality.
• Calming colours – greys, greens, blues.
