Staying Connected in a Changing World
1. Staying Connected in a Changing World
When I was in my early twenties I used to believe about all the adjustments my grand
mothers and fathers experienced witnessed in their life span. The creation college girls of
autos, telephones, televisions, indoor plumbing, electrical power, all of which in my twenties
ended up factors I just took for granted. Now I see my grand kids getting for granted personal
computers, smart telephones, iPads, iPods and all the other new products that have been
invented. One thing I could not even imagine in my twenties. I don't forget considering when
we could rent a motion picture and get it home and look at it on our tv was incredible. In my
wildest dreams I could not understand what our entire world would search like in 2013.
My mother and father are in their eighties and they want nothing to do with cell telephones or
computers. I have viewed them become a lot more and far more isolated from the world.
They have resisted adjust alternatively of embracing it. I know that if I do not settle for the
challenge of keeping up with technologies, I too, will turn out to be isolated as I develop
previous. My grand youngsters hold me enthusiastic to discover so I do not turn out to be
disconnected from them. I am so grateful for Facebook so my daughter-in-regulation can
maintain me posted on what is heading on in their lives 500 miles absent. Just nowadays she
posted images of my grand daughter's birthday celebration at her school. My grand kids can
always help me out, or at the very least position me in the appropriate route, with a problem
with my mobile phone or computer. I first had a cell cellphone, but after I acquired hooked on
texting, I graduated to an Iphone and I adore it.
I switched from a Pc to a Macbook Pro a couple of months ago and that has been
fascinating. Nevertheless have so much to learn. My grand son and I can now FaceTime at
any time we want and that is great. The challenge of stretching myself each day to
understand this new world is challenging and it would be so much less complicated to would
like the globe would adapt to me instead of me to it. Unfortunately, I can see from my
parents, that does not occur. My objective is to be educated about new factors and embrace
and not resist change so when I am in my eighties I will be capable to connect at some stage
of technological intelligence with my grand little ones and great grand children and the
relaxation of the entire world for that subject.
The changes in the last twenty several years have been thoughts boggling, I cannot imagine
what the entire world will be like in the up coming 20 many years. The worry of turning into
outdated and isolated keeps me motivated to remain related to my family and the world and
provides me the incentive to carry on to expand and problem myself to never ever stop
finding out.
