Internet providers (ISPs) play a key role in the business structure of the Internet by connecting users to the Internet through various means like cable modems, DSL, and WiFi. Major ISPs that serve individual customers include AOL, Earthlink, and Mindspring in the US, and Telmex, Axtel, Cablevisión, and Movistar in Mexico. In addition to providing phone connections and IP addresses, ISPs typically offer service packages that include email, access to newsgroups, and some web server space for users to create personal websites.
