2. To own my company
When someone asks me “What kind of job do you want?” It is hard
for me to answer. I always saw myself as being my own boss. I
want to focus my own main viewpoint and don’t like others’ ideas
strongly affecting my decision. I am very independent. To own my
company is the chance to make my idea about products come
true. Although, there are risks, there are more benefits.
3. Be a Philanthropist

4. Read more than 2000 books (excluding
textbooks)
Reading is one of my hobbies. I have read large amounts of books
since elementary school until now. However, during the school
year, I did not have a clear plan about my reading schedule. I
realized that I did not have enough free time for reading. I just
read articles, news every day during my college study time.
However, there are plenty of books I want to read. Now, I already
have a list of books I would read during summer break. I would like
read 20 books during my college years. I feel I would read more
after school study. So reading 2000 books is a challenging task, but
I will try.
5. Publish at least one book
I love reading. Through reading, it allows me to explore the world
and myself. I want to be the person to affect others positively. I
would like to publish one book to let others to read and study. It
also can be a contribution to the world just like what I want to give
to the world. In elementary school, my Chinese teacher let us to
make our own books by collecting our own essay together. It was
an interesting experience. At that time, just my classmates,
teacher and family member can share my pleasure. In the future, I
am willing more people on the world can share my opinions and
joy.
6. Writing a diary throughout my life
I started writing my dairy during middle school. When time passed,
I did not have time to write in it every day. But I still try to write it
whenever I have time and have something want to remember. It
is so interesting when I read my diary sometimes. It helps me to
remember funny things happened in my life. Also, I like to write my
thoughts and ideas on it. Sometimes, if I do not have chance to
express my opinion, my dairy is my good friend for me. Now I have
finished 6 notebooks’ dairies, I would like to keep this habit.
7. Travel more than 50 countries
I was dreaming travel all over the world during my childhood. As a
Chinese, I chose study abroad to America which is my first time to
go to abroad. “All over the world” sounds impossible, “ more than
50 countries” makes it more specific and realizable. Be more
clearly, I want to travel all the continents. Like Europe, I would like
to go France, UK, Italy, Holland, Germany and so on. For north
America, I would like go to Mexico, Canada during my school
years. This is a life-long goal for me, I have confidence to finish it
before I die. I would buy collect the postcards for every city as my
proof.
8. Study abroad in Europe
I had the chance to study at US which makes me get to know
western culture and be more knowledgeable. Each country is
unique and has a wonderful mix of history, culture and many local
sights to see. I really want to get a chance to live at one European
country for a while. It would be an amazing experience to get to
know different people.
9. Learn to play an instrument
The Chinese philosopher Confucius said long ago that “Music
produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do
without.” Playing a musical instrument has many benefits and can
bring joy to you and to everyone around you. Due to my intensive
study, I did not get a chance to learn to play an instrument. I have
tried to learn guitar after graduation from high school. However, I
just learn three month then gave up because of studying abroad.
But, playing an instrument is still one of my long term goals.
10. Learn photography and publish my
pictures
I believe that learning photography will make me enjoy life more. I
like to find something beautiful during daily life: the blue sky with
clouds, green lake landscape or the spring flowers. Using my
camera allows me to capture that beauty and share with friends
to spread the beauty. It makes me appreciate the world around
me. Also, photographs are the only way we can preserve how
people looked at certain times of their lives. I can recall my
college friends or my grandmother when I am old.
11. Learn Chinese brush calligraphy
Chinese brush calligraphy has a long history. It can help me get
deeper understanding of Chinese history by learning it. In being
Chinese, I have responsibility to introduce Chinese traditional
culture to the world. Especially since I am studying abroad now, I
realize some Americans are interested in Chinese culture. If I am
good at calligraphy, it can be a bridge for a foreigner to know
Chinese culture. Also, writing Chinese brush calligraphy need to
be quiet and careful, it is good way to correct my impatience and
haste.
12. Travel across America in a car
I read a book named “historic route 66” which talks about author’s
driving trip on this road from Chicago Michigan Lake to Los
Angeles, California. With one car, one camera, the author finished
the amazing trip in 24 days. I am inspired by him and willing to the
similar thing in the future. It is a good chance to know American
history and the landscape. First, I need to learn to drive during this
summer and begin short trip first. I hope this can be my graduation
journey after I finishing my master degree.
13. Own a house by the sea or lake
I love nature and being surrounded by it. It is easy to be attracted
by the natural beauty of nature and escape from the noisy city.
Living near the sea or lake can make me feel more peaceful and
healthier.
