Falliro.
Covering an area of 12,000 square meters,
Mediterraneo Hospital offers esthetically upgraded
wards, 11 new operating theaters, a state of the art
Heart Cath Lab for invasive cardiology, a state of the
art Angio Suite for Neuro interventional and
Stereotactic procedures, and the first Hybrid Surgical
Theater in Greece

8. Hybrid Surgery 24/7/365
We operate the first Hybrid
Surgical Operating Suite in S.E. Europe.
We use the Philips FD10 Allura angiography
system that permits us to perform:
• Heart and major vascular
surgery under safe conditions,
identical to those of a conventional OR,
while conducting in parallel interventional cardiology procedures, radiology
exams, coronary angiograms and CT real time scanning.
• Brain surgery in OR conditions with access to intra-operative
CT scan, angiography, and the ability to simultaneously
perform vascular surgery procedures.
9. Cardiac Surgery
24/7/365
• Aortocoronary by-pass using multiple arterial grafts
• Aortocoronary by-pass beating heart operations
without use of extracorporeal circulation
• Valve repair instead of valve replacement surgery,
when possible
• Thoracic aorta Aneurysm resection
• Ablation of atrial fibrillation during mitral valve repair
10. Cardiac Surgery
• Short & long-term mechanical circulatory support
by means of Levitronix and Impella devices.
• Implantation of long-term mechanical cardiac support devices
(HeartWare and Incor, type) as well as Berlin Heart Excor type.
11. Brain Surgery
The use of:
• Operating microscopes
• Intraoperative radioscopy
• Intraoperative angiography
• Computed tomography navigation
• Neurophysiological monitoring
• Topography
along with a wide range of specially-made
tools, allows surgeons to operate on
serious cases minimizing the frequency of
post-operative.
12. Spine Center
►Kyphoplasty
►Spondyloplasty
►Root infiltration
►Spondylodesis
►Catheter placement
13. Spinal Cord
and Spinal Nerve Surgery
Spinal cord surgery capitalizes on all the advantages brain surgery has to
offer.
• Spinal cord tumor surgery. Tumors which are located in the sensitive
spinal cord area may be removed with the use of microsurgery and laser,
intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and navigation devices are
used.
• Disc herniation: It is dealt with the use of microsurgical techniques and
intraoperative radioscopy without incisions and with the most limited
hospital stay possible.
• Spinal cord decompression: It is achieved thanks to the use of open or
minimally invasive techniques and navigation devices.
18. General Surgery
Staffed by expert surgeons, manage both acute as well as chronic
cases within the framework of General Surgery.
• Liver and the Biliary
• Spleen and Pancreas
• GI tract
• Endocrinal glands
• Breast
• Soft tissues
• Abdominal walls
Our Laparoscopic Surgery Unit, is one of the most advanced
surgical centers, and its scope of application is constantly
expanding.
19. Orthopedic Surgery
KNEE SURGERY:
Arthroscopic: Chondroplasties, ligament transplant,
partial meniscectomy, meniscal suture, meniscus transplant,
plastic surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament,
posterior cruciate ligament plastic surgery (primary or revision), fractures.
Open reconstruction: Arthroplasties, fractures.
SHOULDER SURGERY:
Arthroscopic: Acromioplasty, SLAP,
anterior instability (Bankart repair protocol), rotator cuff.
Open reconstruction: Arthroplasties, fractures.
HIP SURGERY: Arthroplasties, fractures
LOWER EXTREMITY/ANGLE SURGERY: Fractures & sprains.
UPPER EXTREMITY SURGERY: Chronic disease treatment,
trauma management, tendon sutures, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis.
20. Bariatric Surgery
A team of dedicated and specialized
medical experts who have trained in
Europe,are focusing mostly in surgery
aiming at long-term weight loss and follow-
up of obese patients.
Surgical treatment for severe or morbid
Obesity cases, when ΒΜΙ is over 40 and,
Type ΙΙ Obesity, where ΒΜΙ is over 35, is
performed laparoscopically.

• Liposuction (body liposculpture)
• Breast cosmetic surgery
• Breast enhancement (implants)
• Breast lift
• Breast reconstruction
• Abdominoplasty
• Thigh Lift
• Buttocks enhancement
22. Opthalmology
We manage all eye diseases and medical conditions
emphasizing on invidualized high quality services using
genomic testing in selected cases and families.

23. Renal Care, and Hemodialysis,
Center
• Integrated Unit within a modern and fully
operational hospital.
• Comprehensive vascular surgery support 24/7/365
for routine and urgent fistula, grafts, permanent
catheter placement and other procedures.
• Attached Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for all critical and
life-threatening emergencies.
• In-house blood bank that meet our patients’
transfusion needs.

surveillance.
• Constant cleaning and
purification of the
system.
25. Laboratory Medicine
Quality Control
To ensure adequate certification of the various methods and analyses
used, we utilize both an in-house, and an external quality control
programs.
Specialized tests can be send to major laboratories in Germany, and
the United States.
27. Advanced Trauma Life Support
ATLS®
The American College of Surgeons (ACS) established this intensive
training seminar in 1980s. It is designed to train physicians to act
properly,
administer the right techniques and undertake due action with a view
to duly providing immediate assistance to injured parties right then
and there, right after injury.
Mediterraneo Hospital annually trains and certifies 200 Physicians
on how to properly manage trauma.
28. Basic Life Support
BLS®
It is the only official seminar the European Resuscitation Council offers
and the Resuscitation Teaching Council of Greece trainers delivers.
The seminar content touches on the timely assessment of patients risk,
first aid systems, CPR, safe and proper use of external defibrillators, safe
and proper positioning of patient, after successful resuscitation, as well as
first aid in case of suffocating or drowning.
29. Advanced Life Support
ALS®
It is the only official seminar the European Resuscitation Council offers
and the Resuscitation Teaching Council of Greece trainers delivers.
Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a set of life-saving protocols and skills
that extend Basic Life Support to further support the circulation and
provide an open airway and adequate ventilation (breathing).
35. VI. Quality Certifications
Mediterraneo Hospital has been awarded an ISO
9001 certification for its Diagnostic Laboratories.
We are also in process to implement the TEMOS
facility certification by July 2012.
