Mediterraneo, is a 147-bed state of the art General
Hospital, situated in Glyfada, and is the only private
hospital in southern Athens between Sounio and
Falliro.
Covering an area of 12,000 square meters,

We operate the first Hybrid
Surgical Operating Suite in S.E. Europe.
We use the Philips FD10 Allura angiography
system that permits us to perform:
• Heart and major vascular
surgery under safe conditions,
identical to those of a conventional OR,
while conducting in parallel interventional cardiology procedures, radiology
exams, coronary angiograms and CT real time scanning.
• Brain surgery in OR conditions with access to intra-operative
CT scan, angiography, and the ability to simultaneously
perform vascular surgery procedures.

Spinal cord surgery capitalizes on all the advantages brain surgery has to
offer.
• Spinal cord tumor surgery. Tumors which are located in the sensitive
spinal cord area may be removed with the use of microsurgery and laser,
intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and navigation devices are
used.
• Disc herniation: It is dealt with the use of microsurgical techniques and
intraoperative radioscopy without incisions and with the most limited
hospital stay possible.
• Spinal cord decompression: It is achieved thanks to the use of open or

ATLS®
The American College of Surgeons (ACS) established this intensive
training seminar in 1980s. It is designed to train physicians to act
properly,
administer the right techniques and undertake due action with a view
to duly providing immediate assistance to injured parties right then
and there, right after injury.
Mediterraneo Hospital annually trains and certifies 200 Physicians
on how to properly manage trauma.
28. Basic Life Support
BLS®
It is the only official seminar the European Resuscitation Council offers
and the Resuscitation Teaching Council of Greece trainers delivers.
The seminar content touches on the timely assessment of patients risk,
first aid systems, CPR, safe and proper use of external defibrillators, safe
and proper positioning of patient, after successful resuscitation, as well as
first aid in case of suffocating or drowning.

ALS®
It is the only official seminar the European Resuscitation Council offers
and the Resuscitation Teaching Council of Greece trainers delivers.
Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a set of life-saving protocols and skills
that extend Basic Life Support to further support the circulation and
provide an open airway and adequate ventilation (breathing).
