2. Skills Profiler Activity
This activity will help you to:
• Identify your current skill set
• Learn the most important skills related to
your intended career
• Compare your skills with those needed to
succeed in your field

3. Begin using the option to
“Start with your skills”

4. • Select your skills - be honest with yourself!
• Click continue
• Next, you will be asked to “rank” those skills

5. • Your skills profile will then be displayed
• Take a moment to review your skill set
• Scroll to the bottom and click “Compare Your
Skills to an Occupation”

6. • Type the specific job title you are interested in
• Click continue

7. • Choose the occupation that most closely
matches your desired job title
• Click continue

8. This shows:
• Skills you have that match your desired position
• Areas in which you’ll need more training
• Skills you are missing, and will need to obtain

9. Reflection
• Take a moment to reflect on the results of
the Skills Profile Comparison
• Consider:
– Where do you stand in terms of your career goals?
– Are you surprised at any of the skills required for
your desired position?
– How might you close gaps in your skill set?
