Day 0;Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha
Uponyourarrival at KilimanjaroAirport you will be greeted by our transfer driver andtaken tothe Tulia
hotel andSpa (https://www.tuliahotelandspa.com/)or similar in Arusha. The rest of the day is for youto
enjoy at leisure – relax at the hotel poolor explore the town of Arusha. In the late afternoonyouwill met
by one of ourKilimanjaro team members, who will brief youonyourupcomingtrek. Bed andBreakfast

Day 1; Arusha – Machame Gate (1,790m) – Machame Camp(3,010m)
After breakfast you will be picked up at your lodge and taken to the Kilimanjaro National park gate-
machame. After completionof all the necessary paperwork, youradventurecommences. Yourdestination
for today is the MachameCamp. Soonyouwill be hiking throughthe lush rainforest with its large ancient
trees, primeval ferns and endemic flowers, like the Impatiens Kilimanjaro. You might also spot black and
white colobus monkeys, peeking through the leaves. Reaching the campsite you will have time to relax,
stretch your legs and enjoy a hearty meal, before snuggling into your tent for the night. Breakfast, Lunch

Day 2;Machame Camp(3,010m) – Shira Camp(3,845m)Today’searly startis notdue to a long stretch, but
rather toallow youtoreach Shira Campat aroundmid-afternoon. Asyouwalk youwill notice the dramatic
change in the landscape – from lush and green rainforest to dry moor and heath land. Arriving at your
campsite a beautiful view of the mountainrange opens up before you. The glaciers of Kibo glistens in the
2. golden hue of the setting sun as you enjoy another lovingly cooked meal before climbing into your tent.

Day 3; ShiraCamp(3,845m) – Lava Tower Hut (4,640m) – Barranco Camp(3,960m)
Acclimatization is ontoday’smenu. Youwillclimb roughly 800 m, butsleeponalevel notmuchhigherthan
the previousnight. Startingat Shira Plateau, youwill make yourway up to Lava Tower. Here you will rest a
while, before continuing through the Barranco Valley to the beautiful Barranco Camp. The trek will take
approximately 6 to 7 hours, butthe various distractions of the alpine desert as well as the Barranco Valley
with its small lobelia plants and giant senecios will keep your mind off the stretch still ahead. A well-
deserved dinner and overnight awaits you at Barranco Camp.

Day 4; Barranco Camp(3,960m) – Karanga Camp(4,035m)
Today the BarrancoWall standsbefore youtoconquer. Somestages will require youto use yourhandsfor
a better grip, butno actual climbing is necessary. Your guide will be with youevery step of the way to lend
a helping hand. The route with its numerous ascents and descents allow for further acclimatisation and
leads you to the mountain ridge. Walking along the ridge you can take in the beautiful landscape with its
stunning contrasts of desert and vegetation, before finally reaching the cloudy Karanga Camp. Your trek
will take between 3 to 4 hours, leaving more thanenoughtime to rest andplay a game of rummy. Evening
meal and overnight at Karanga Camp.

Day 5; Karanga Camp (4,035m) – Barafu Camp(4,640m)
Awakening to the sunlightdancingoff the KiboSummit, youwill enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting
outto today’sdestination – Barafu Camp. Mostof the day will be spentwalking throughvery dry desertic
terrain, with Kiboever presenton yourleft side. After 3 to4 hoursyouwill reach Barafu Camp, where you
will have an early dinner andnight as the highlightof your trip is only a few shorthoursaway…

3. Day 6; BarafuCamp(4,640m) – UhuruPeak (5,895m) – MwekaCamp (3,080m)
At aroundmidnightyouwill be wokenup by yourguide with a warm cup of tea and biscuitsto get you
ready for yourfinal ascent. The moonandyourheadlampswill be youronly source of light as youmake
yourway up toStella Point(5,730m), reachingthe crater rim in about5 to 7 hours. Another1 to 2 hours
will take youto UhuruPeak, where youcan enjoy the sunrising over the African landscape, casting a pink
hue over the snowy peak and makingthe glaciers sparkle like diamondsaroundyou. Aftercapturing this
incredible view and achievementon film, youwill startyourdescent along the same routeback to Barafu
Camp, where yourteam awaits youwith some snacksandrefreshments. Rested andrelaxed youwill

anotheropportunity tospotthe cheeky colobusmonkeys, finally reaching the MwekaGate. You will be
