คําอุทาน (Interjections)
คําอุทาน (Interjections)
คําอุทาน (Interjections) เปนคําพูดที่เราพูดออกมาดวยอารมณตาง ๆ แสดงความรูสึกที่
เกิดขึ้นขณะนั้น เชน ดีใจ โกรธ ตกใจ ประหลาดใจ เปนตน คําอุทานที่แสดงความรูสึก
เหลานี้มักตามดวยเครื่องหมายอัศเจรีย ( ! )
คําอุทานในภาษาอังกฤษแบงเปน 2 ชนิด คือ
1. ชนิดที่เปนคําคําเดียว หรือ วลี
2. ชนิดที่เปนประโยค
1. คําอุทานชนิดที่เปนคําคําเดียวหรือวลี ไดแก
1.1 แสดงความดีใจ พอใจ สนุกสนาน - Hooray ! Yippy ! Bravo !
แสดงความประหลาดใจ - Wow ! Oh ! Indeed ! Gee !
1.2 แสดงความเศราใจ ผิดหวัง - Alas ! Ah ! Nonsense !
1.3 แสดงความโกรธ ไมพอใจ - Damn ! Damn it ! Darn it !
1.4 แสดงความตกใจ - Gosh ! Oh dear ! Good grief !
1.5 แสดงความรังเกียจ - Yack ! Ugh !
1.6 แสดงอาการเหยียดหยาม - Hiss ! Boo !
1.7 แสดงความเจ็บปวด - Ouch ! Ow !
1.8 พบสิ่งที่ไมคาดหวัง - Ooops ! My !
1.9 อื่น ๆ - Oh boy !
- Hands off !
- Hands up !
- Thanks goodness !
ตัวอยาง

- Oh dear ! I’ve spilt my coffee.
- Ugh ! How I hate touching sticky things.
- Ouch ! You’re stepping on my toe.
- Alas !Jim failed in the English exam.
2. คําอุทานชนิดที่เปนประโยค
ในการสรางประโยคอุทาน
2.1 ใช What a (an) ………….! กับนามเอกพจนที่นับได
What a large house !

2. What an expensive car !
2.2 ใช What …………. กับนามพหูพจน หรือนามที่นับไมได
What beautiful scenery !
What big roses they are !
What interesting novels they are !
What delicious food it is !
2.3 ใช How เพื่อขยาย adjective หรือ adverb
How strong he is !
How quickly you eat !
2.4 ใช What a …………!
What a pity !
What a mass !
What a shame !
What a nuisance !
นอกจากนี้ ยังมีประโยคอุทานที่ใชในการแสดงความยินดีหรืออวยพรใน
โอกาสตาง ๆ อีก เชน
Long live the King !
