A monthly publication, the Dallas Medical Journal (DMJ) provides the over 4,500
member physicians of the Dallas County Medical Society (DCMS) with information
relevant to the practice of medicine in Dallas County. Members benefit from
medical news, legislative updates, and business advice while reading profiles of
local physicians and learning about recent networking events.
Now in its 103rd year of publication, the DMJ includes in its April 2017 issue a
letter from the current DCMS president, John T. Carlo, MD, in which he discusses
the nationwide opioid epidemic. The issue also makes recommendations to
physicians on handling the recent local increase in mumps cases and recognizes
several DCMS members for serving as judges at the annual Beal Bank Dallas
